Front-End Engineer

iConstituent is looking for a visually oriented front-end engineer to join our team with a strong command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, SASS and Angular 5 (2+).

Who we are:

  • iConstituent has been a leading provider of software solutions for elected officials for over a decade. We have a loyal client base and are debt free. However, we are a team of highly motivated engineers and entrepreneurs – complacency is not an option. We refuse to sit idly by and contribute to the lack of innovation in the market we serve
  • We are setting out to revolutionize our product line. To start we are making the largest internal investment in technology the company has made in our history. We want to redefine how our customers use constituent engagement tools. Be a part of the ground level of building a fresh approach to software that connects millions of constituents with their elected officials
  • We believe in user-centered design principles. We employ the “don’t make me think” user experience philosophy
  • We believe in leveraging modern technology to provide the best possible developer experience and UX for our users

Who you are:

  • You have experience and working knowledge of HTML, SASS, Flexbox, CSS3 animations, Angular, and Material Design
  • You have experience working with modern componentized apps with 3rd party Shadow DOM components. Your deliverables will not be a global stylesheet. Each component in the app will have a SASS file with component-specific styles that use Angular’s view encapsulation
  • You have a passion for quality and an eye for detail. You understand that UX doesn’t stop with prototypes. You obsess over the customer’s experience and the usability of the product you are building

What you’ll do:

  • Be responsible for bringing a brand new product to life, starting from a set of high fidelity mockups
  • Coding components and styles to match the mockups
  • Start with a customized Angular Material theme for global styles, colors, and typography, and then add component-specific SASS style files as needed
  • Collaborate with our team to understand our users and guide product decisions
  • Improve our codebase. Our team constantly strives to be more and more intentional about writing less code and continuously refactoring
